Counselling
Throughout Jill’s Career, she has had the privilege to work with Individuals, Couples and Families. Children and their parents have been the focus of Jill’s learning and work as well as working with Adults on their own, specifically in the area of major life shifts (both planned and unplanned) as well as working with people struggling with loss. Jill has also had the opportunity to facilitate groups and for children and their parents, both separately and together.
Jill has worked in large systems in Social Services, Mental Health and Health Care systems. This experience brings a unique understanding of how to survive and thrive while working in large systems, how big systems work, and how this can affect work/life balance.
Clinical Supervision
While there are many definitions of Clinical Supervision, the definition that Jill uses when providing this service is:
“Clinical supervision is a disciplined, tutorial process wherein principles are transformed into practical skills, with four overlapping foci: administrative, evaluative, clinical, and supportive.” Powell, 1998. Clinical Supervision in Drug and Alcohol Counselling, San Fran, Josey Bass. Jill has had the honour of providing Clinical Supervision to Therapists of all stages of practice, from beginning to the very seasoned. Clinical Supervision is a way of stretching your practice and also counts towards BCCSW Continuing Professional Development.
